Keynote - Drupal CMS now and beyond

With Drupal CMS 1.0 released in January, we're now well into development of the next version.

So it's a great opportunity to explain which processes we’ve followed so far, provide updates on how we are tracking and discuss what we have planned next on the roadmap.

Some topics that will be covered:

- Features and areas we're working on now
- Plans for future versions ongoing
- What we're looking for from contributors
- How we defined the strategy and scope
- Which role research played on the product definition

Keynote - PHP's Type System Dissected

PHP has acquired a solid type system over the last few years and versions. But what is the meaning of a type, a type system, and a subtyping relation?

In this talk, we will cover these topics using PHP's type system and some formal theory, see how PHP stores and checks types, what is Liskov's Substitution Principle (LSP) and how it is enforced by PHP during inheritance.
Finally, we will see how the strict_types declare affects PHP's type system.

Keynote - WebAssembly beyond the browser

Updating software on IoT devices is a pain, leading to an "internet of insecure things". Deployment speed has massively improved for cloud applications, but IoT development is still in the dark ages, where simple updates can take months or years.

WebAssembly is a great for cross-platform software distribution, but it's long been closely tied to browsers, due to its heavy reliance on JavaScript. The WebAssembly System Interface (WASI) is the final piece of the puzzle to rip WebAssembly out of browsers and let it flourish elsewhere.

What is new on Protected Content?

The Protected Content module started in 2019. After 6 years of development (and as far as I know more than 500 thousands of encrypted contents), many things have evolved. In this conversation I would like to demonstrate the latest functionalities, and focus mainly on the stuff that was not yet available during Ghent (2022).
